I HOPE YOU REMEMBER ME

Since July 2020, I’ve been documenting my mother Sara’s Early-Onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis. I aim to wrap principle photography by December 2022. Utilizing interviews, vérité techniques, and 40+ hours of home video archive, the film paints a complete portrait of an independent woman’s descent into this terrible disease.

Sara is a former graphic artist, a caring yet playful mother, and a widow who lost her husband to suicide in 2009. Due to her rare form of Alzheimer’s, Posterior Cortical Atrophy, she is hyper conscious of the disease and doing everything she can to cherish her final moments of cognitive lucidity.
